Pamela Hunter, Irland

I have been involved in whippets since the mid eighties, initially with working, racing and coursing before moving into the show side of the breed, although both Ryan and I have lived with several different breeds over the years including ESS,Wiemaraners and Flat Coated Retrievers which Ryan worked to the gun,we also have had Miniature Poodles,Great Danes,Border Collies, Jack Russell Terriers and Border Terriers. With my husband we founded our kennel Mossbawnhill in the early part of 2003,although the Affix existed a lot longer prior to this as it was initially our horse affix.

We have bred Champion Whippets in many countries, including the UK,Ireland,Australia,Bermuda,Finland,Switzerland,Germany & Sweden and have made up several International and UK  Ch’s and a few multi Ch’s probably the best known being siblings “Pebble» UK,IR,INT Ch. Mossbawnhill It’s All Bout Me Veteran Ch. who was also European Winner in 2009 and “Timber» UK,IR,INT Ch. Mossbawnhill Exclusive Celtic Junior Winner 08 & Veteran Winner who also won the Dog CC at Crufts in 2011 under Dagmar Kenis-Pordham. I have been judging since 2014 and award CAC’s in Group 10 and Group 6,this year (2025) I was given the great honor of awarding CC’s in both sexes under the rule of the Royal Kennel Club England and had a super entry of quality whippets to go over, since judging I have officiated in several countries including Ireland,England,Poland and Germany along with Finland and Sweden. I am extremely honored to be asked to judge in Norway and I really appreciate the invitation,I am very much looking forward to the appointment and seeing some fantastic quality whippets.

Dear exhibitors,

My name is Marko Ljutić, a Croatian FCI International judge, and over the past twenty years I have been on a remarkable journey as an exhibitor, a breeder under the kennel name Mangry’s, and a judge. My experiences have taken me across the world. I’ve had the privilege of judging dogs at specialty, club, national and international shows in Finland, France, Belgium, Denmark, Poland, the Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Slovenia, Israel, Iceland, Ukraine, Croatia and more.

As a judge, my approach is to select dogs that meet the breed standard characteristics, and that demonstrate structural soundness, correct temperament and good health. When I step into the judging ring, my process is meticulous. I begin by observing the dogs in motion, inviting exhibitors to move up and down and around to reveal any compensations or structural issues. In Whippets I like to see a clean, parallel gait—up and down and around—maintaining smooth curves both in movement and when stacked.

Beyond judging, my passion extends to dog breeding under the prefix Mangry’s. My journey into pure-bred dog breeding began fifteen years ago when I imported my first Australian Shepherd bitch, CH Thornapple America The Beautiful, directly from the USA. Our first litter produced champions, group winners and even Best in Show titleholders. Some of my notable dogs include BIS Int Ch Mangry’s La Bamba Mamacita, Puppy World Winner Mangry’s Shake Ya Bum Bum, BISS Int Ch Mangry’s Standing Ovation, and Ch Mangry’s Nano Party. By the third litter we achieved a major milestone with a Junior European Winner and Best of Breed at the Euro Dog Show Brno 2014 with BIS Int Ch Mangry’s Buzzdo. I bred Aussies for around twelve years before I fell in love with Whippets and moved to a new breed.

While breeding Aussies, I also wanted to keep one smaller breed—Affenpinschers—which I imported from Sweden. This resulted in Reserve European Winner Ch Crea Diem In The Jungle and Junior European Winner Crea Diem Jacky. Notably, one of our Affenpinscher puppies became Puppy World Winner in Milan and the highest-winning male in the UK for 2018, CH Mangry’s Punky Funky for Belata. Unfortunately, the Affenpinscher was too small a breed to keep alongside the Aussies, so I discontinued that program fairly quickly.

We started with Whippets because we wanted a smaller medium-sized breed that would run out our other dogs. My friend Iva Raič, with whom I co-owned some dogs, found our first Whippet puppy in Poland at the Must Be Shadow kennel. After Melanie came to our home, I fell in love with the easier lifestyle and minimal grooming—only nail trimming—and I transitioned from Aussies to Whippets. After that, we imported two Barnesmores from Northern Ireland and, more recently, a small bitch from France. In 2024 we had a Puppy World Winner, Mangry’s Hurricane, bred in cooperation with the Black Majesty team. In cooperation with my friend Nina Rašpica, we also bred two very successful Whippets: Ch Mangry’s Summer at Kirdags and BISS Ch Mangry’s Sirius Kirdags.

Apart from judging and breeding, I am deeply involved in local dog clubs. I served as president of the Club for Shepherds and Mountain Dogs for eight years and, for the last four years, as vice president. I am currently General Secretary of the Croatian Sighthound Club and a member of the Dalmatian Club of Croatia.

Also, I love to train and show dogs; it is my passion and my meditation time, where I focus on the relationship with the dog to help it perform as best as possible. In the end, it is all a matter of connection and synchronicity with the dog, and of having fun. I have been showing dogs for the last twenty years all over the world. My favourite shows are the World Dog Show, the European Dog Show and Crufts. Hopefully I will one day also show at Westminster—another dream to achieve.

I feel humbled and privileged to still be able to show, breed and judge dogs. As a Whippet breeder, I look forward to judging the breed, examining the dogs and gaining a clearer vision of what I need to keep in my own breeding program or what to improve. It motivates me to be better than yesterday, both as a breeder and as a person.

Thank you to everyone who enters under me; I truly appreciate all your hard work and your love for the pure bred dogs.

Best regards,

Marko Ljutić
